What IS Title I?
What is Title I?
Title I is a federally funded program, whose goal is to meet the academic needs of all students and to provide quality education that support academic standards. Lincoln has a schoolwide Title I program that provides services and programs for the entire school. Being a schoolwide Title I program assures that Lincoln interventionists will continue to meet the needs of our students. As a result, all of Lincoln's students are held to the same high expectations.
Being a schoolwide Title program also allows Title I money to be used for educational programs and resources that will improve our school as a whole. Trainings for teachers, professional development, student materials, and an increase in Title I staff are all examples of how Title I money is used. Our schoolwide Title I program also offers teachers with additional help in the classroom and higher quality interventions (which are prepared by our schoolwide interventionists).
Lincoln's schoolwide Title I program goal for the 2017-2018 school year is to improve the reading/math skills of our students by monitoring student progress through the following assessments: the MCA's, AIMSWeb, MAP, and Progress Monitoring (LLI Benchmarks, diagnostics, etc.). If you would like to learn more about our schoolwide Title I program, feel free to contact your classroom teacher, Minnesota's Education Department, or the U.S. Department of Education. Thank you for all you do to support your Lincoln family, and thank you for your time!
Sincerely,
Lincoln Elementary's Title I Staff
